Worship and Service
We at St. Thomas and St. John believe that as we are called together to worship, so we are sent out from worship to service.
Communion: Our worship service includes music, readings from the Bible, a sermon, and Holy Communion.
Music: Our music is a blend of the traditional and contemporary. Our goal is that everything be singable and raise our minds and hearts to God.
Seasonal observances: Advent–Christmas, Lent–Easter, and the church year anchor our rhythm.
Community Service:
We actively serve at both the St. Croix Rehabilitation Center and The Deerfield, where we bring Sunday worship about six times a year.
In one memorable Christmas Eve, the parish moved worship to a local care center so everyone in the faith community could participate —transforming a low-attendance season into a celebration of connection and belonging.
We financially support Fire Department, The New Richmond Community Centre, the Food Shelf, the Salvation Army, and the Future Farmers' of America (FFA / SOAR) programs.

Our Story:
Founded as St. Thomas in the 1850s, the congregation’s original building was destroyed in the 1899 New Richmond tornado, the deadliest in Wisconsin history. The community worshiped in homes and shared spaces for years, then in 1946 purchased the former First English Lutheran Church at our current address—now on the National Register of Historic Places (1906, Gothic Revival). Our stained glass windows are unique and the patterns represent the seven sacraments of the church. Each window has a different cross. One window in particular features symbols of the state of Wisconsin and the Historic Diocese of Eau Claire (which has since reunified with the other historic Wisconsin dioceses).
The church was consecrated as St. Thomas & St. John. We’re part of the Episcopal Diocese of Wisconsin
